NetDevil is a company that creates MMOs and MMOGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Game) and is located in Louisville, Colorado. It was founded in 1997.
The game, which is being called, "Lego Universe," is being set for release in late 2008. Lego Universe will allow for character creation, advancement, and interaction. It is being billed as one of the most original concepts ever. It is also being billed as the most expansive universe ever created for a video game.
The trailer that has been released is really a site to see. You will first see that character creation is made up of picking a head, body, and legs. This will give you an opportunity to explore what kind of character you which to be represented as.
You will also notice I the trailer for Lego Universe that there is an area called, "The Workshop." This is an area that you will wander to when you want to create different items to interact with in the Lego Universe. In the example, you can see the character creating a sports car for himself.
When the trailer shows the world to you, you will be amazed at the different possibilities that you are made aware of. You will see modern looking buildings next to castles next to futuristic mega structures.
Moving around in this world, you will see that there is a space ship, a robot, a ship flying in the air, what appears to be King Kong, and a dragon amongst other things. This answers a lot of questions that people have had about the game.
There were many that wondered if Lego Universe would center on just the modern ear of Legos. There are many fans that are excited about the potential of mixing different historical times to come up with a very expansive universe.
There is also a scene in the trailer that suggests that there is some kind of combat system in the game. While this has not been defined, there are many that are very interested in the idea.
The blogs are already buzzing with the ideas about a pirate living next to an astronaut and across the street from a knight. Lego Universe is sure to give hours of excitement if it finally comes out late next year.

Post a CommentI'm pretty stoked about this. They're going to release some more info in February 2008 at the Game Developer's Conference
Big bucket of Legos would be great. Have u seen how much they charge these days for legos. Its insane
Nice. Just what the world needs - a MMOG to interest young children...as if young children have nothing better to do.
I'm okay with games like this geared toward adults (even if people are stupid enough to play them for 52 hours straight and die). What ever happened to just busting out a big bucket of legos with kids?
Ooh! That looks like it could be a great alternative to Second Life.
