Train Tracks

jocelyn brady
Silhouettes through sunset windows

Young girl sleeping on mom's shoulder

Bundled in an oversized sweatshirt

Sleepers, readers, cd players soaking up

Into distant, thoughtful eyes

Passing sunny carnival rides

Immobilized until a dusk crowd filters in

You are behind me

Miles stretching over warm afternoon tracks

How many lovers have crossed these lines, these tracks?

Years of uncertainty rolling onward

Through the planes of time

These tracks, these lines

Rusted with the weather and weight

Of wanderers over the ages

very nice...captures the imagination of a "wanderer."
