Dog training is programming one's dog to obey and observer commands happily. As man's best friend, dog training just supports this ideal notion. This activity can be done right in one's own residence with a private trainer or enrollment in dog training classes. Dog training uses a lot of patience, a collar, a leash and a lot of positive reinforcement with one's pet. The experience must be enjoyable for the pet and the training regimen can be interspersed with treats and praise when the dog obeys properly. Simple commands such as sit, come and continue can be made through fun filled activities. What is important is consistency so that the dog learns the pattern before undertaking the behavior.
One important aspect of training one's dog is about feeding time. At certain periods during the day, one must program the dog that it is feeding time. This disallows the pet from begging for table scraps. When going on walks, a slight yank with a stern command would train the pet from yanking the leash while on walks. Standing still may also be instilled as it is necessary for one to be examined thoroughly by the vet or a good grooming session. Playing fetch is also one way that a dog can be programmed to obey simple commands. By repeatedly saying no, one trains the dog to keep still until it is allowed to move and fetch the ball.
Dog training depends on the character of the dog. How docile a pet is or how prone it is to aggressive behavior is key to understanding the training regimen of a pet. Some dogs respond to gentle coaxing, others need a stern voice to be able to follow a command. The temperament of the dog is also important, as it spells the difference between a fast learner or a pet just enjoying the attention. So before undertaking the job of training a pet, getting advice from experts is important. This would ensure a controllable pet with good demeanor and jovial moods.
