Training Your Child For Success

Rocky Kamau
Today's world is all about survival of the fittest. A lot of creativity and intelligence is required to succeed in life, as the world is getting more competent day by day. Thereby, great responsibility lies with the parents, to train their child to meet the global standards in creativity and intelligence. It is between the age of five and ten that children actually start shaping up their intelligence and other such vital faculties. Hence, it is at this stage that parents need to work really hard on developing these faculties in their children. The vital faculties are:

Communication skills
Communication is important to everybody in every sphere of life. To develop this skill in your child, you need to be a role model yourself. Sometimes, parents themselves derogate their children, with names and abusive language, which has a negative impact on the child. At the same time praising your child too much is also not advised. Always strike a balance, it is the encouragement you give your child, which goes a long way.

Intelligence
You can build intelligence in your child by introducing and involving your child to play games which require logical thinking. There are lots of games which entail logical thinking like, cutting and pasting, joining dots, spotting the differences, board games and many others. You also need to play with your child. Family bonding is very important.

Creativity
Creativity plays a very important role to have a successful career. The creative quotient is something which has to be nurtured and developed at the tender age, as it will not come all of a sudden. Creativity also helps your child to get over stress and gain control over his senses. This is also a good relaxation technique. Most of the parents do this mistake of limiting the creative pursuit of their children, only to the classroom lessons. This will hamper the creative talent in the child. Allow your child to experiment and explore all that interests him. This will make him very creative.

Self confidence
Just having the right potential will not give you excellent results, but self confidence will. Effective communication and encouragement will build self confidence. Do not set impossible goals, as it will hamper your confidence, instead set realistic goals which will boost your confidence. And also make sure that you do not put fear of failure in your child which will ruin their self confidence.

Along with these aspects, you need to spend time with your children, so that they are well trained to face this world, which is full of competition.
