The long awaited Transformers movie released in theaters Monday July 1, 2007. Many fans gathered early to make sure they got tickets and to assure themselves a good seat in the auditorium, and they do not feel that was in vain.

Transformers is a movie about a race of metallic transforming alien beings from the planet Cybertron where two factions, the Autobots (or defenders of humanity), and the Decepticons (the destroyers), are at an all out war for a giant cube known as the All-Spark. The All-Spark will grant the Decepticons power over all machines and turn them against humans. The Autobots are trying to prevent that from happening.

The movie is not only about robots from outer space though. Playing a huge role in the movie Shia LaBeouf, portrays Sam Witwicky. Sam is a young man that is just getting his first car. This is where we are introduced to Bumblebee, an Autobot. Sam just sees him as a 1974 Camaro. Later the car takes off and Sam chases the car thinking someone was in the process of stealing it. After he follows the car for a while he finally sees Bumblebee transform. From this point on it is non-stop madness and mayhem and Sam gets confronted by the Decepticons for his grandfather's glasses. He also meets Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots, Jazz, Ratchet, Ironhide and finds out that Bumblebee was sent to be his protector. Why all this madness over a pair of glasses? Several years prior Captain Archibald Witwicky, Sam's great-great grandfather discovers Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons frozen under the ice in the Arctic Circle. When he found Megatron, the accidentally activated Megatron's Navigational System and the ray imprinted the map to the All-Spark on his glasses.

The Decepticons including Megatron, Starscream, Bonecrusher, Barricade, Frenzy, Blackout, Scorponok, and Devastator, and the Autobots battle it out in Mission City where Sam is then put in charge of the All-Spark by Optimus to keep it away from the Decepticons.

Many fans of the 1980's Cartoon have loved the movie and have made plans to see it multiple times. James Fisher of Dallas says "Its the best movie ever! I've seen it three times and I'm going back again today." Lynn Andrews of Dallas, also said of the movie "I'm going to see it Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!" This movie has more than exceeded the expectations of the original fans of the show. Now we all wait for a sequel.
