Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - a PSP Game Review

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen for PlayStation Portable is not a great game. The view of the characters is awkward and the controls are difficult and annoying. The graphics are much lower than they could be for the PSP, and the sounds are terrible. They are all basically the same. Don't get this game.

Let's start with the gameplay. The game is designed the same way the PokeMon games are designed on the Game Boy Advance or Nintendo DS. You would like for the game to be in the 3rd person, right behind the Transformer you are controlling. The camera angle makes the game seem primitive, even though you are fighting with aliens disguised as cars. The fighting is much too simple. basically, 5 different kinds of enemies come at you and you either shoot or punch them.

The graphics are also really bad. They seem more like something you would see on a Nintendo DS, not a Sony PSP. They videos have better graphics than any game I have ever seen, but the actual game graphics are terrible. The sounds are also really bad. There is literally one sound for punching. It makes a sound of crunching metal when you punch, even if you don't punch anything. And no matter what you shoot, the blaster makes the same sound.

The story is fine. It is very similar to that of the movie, with a few scenes left out. It is very interesting, but the lacking gameplay and graphics make it futile for them to even try.

This game both feels and looks like the creators (Activision) put the game together in less than a month. Normally it takes about 3 months to develop even a semi-nice game. Don't purchase this one. It is a big waste of your money. You can get better games than this for a lot less! Games such as Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto cost less than Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Both of these games are a lot better, and when I say a lot better, I mean a LOT better. Don't pick this one

This game costs around thirty dollars in stores, but you can get it for a few bucks less on EBay or used. I would rate Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen a 3 out of 10. This game is rated E10+ for children 10 and older.
