So I'm going to add more ways you can use it around the house. There is sure to be something to catch your eye, so that the next time you don't have what you need, but you do have a roll of adhesive tape, you will still be able to accomplish your task, and get your money's worth out of that one roll of tape.
Pest Control
Use a strip of transparent tape to pick up a line of ants or hang a strip on your patio or in your garage to capture other types of unwanted insects.
Your Bangs
If you need to trim your bangs, just put a strip of tape across the portion of hair to be cut, then cut above the tape. This gives you even bangs.
Splint Support For Plants
Use the adhesive tape to support the splint on any plant with a broken stem.
Label Protection
To keep the information on your prescription bottles legible, protect the label with transparent tape.
Fix Your Necklace
Tape a piece of transparent tape, adhesive side up, to your desk or counter. Place the beads of your necklace on the tape. Make sure they are in the order you want. Then they are ready to be strung.
Fix Your Shoelaces
If your shoelaces have frayed ends, just wrap a piece of adhesive tape around the end.
Sew Your New Zipper
If you want to sew in a new or old zipper, first close the seam by basting. Next, place the zipper face down on the wrong side of the fabric, and tape in place. Now you can sew the zipper, then take off the tape and remove all the basting.
Repair Eyeglasses
To repair your broken eyeglass lens just place small pieces of adhesive tape on the bottom of the lens and the top of the lens.
Legible Markers For Seeds
So your seed markers remain legible while in the garden, cover them with transparent tape.
Protect Your Tabletops
Place pieces of tape on the bottom of knickknacks so your tabletops won't get scratched.
Sew Snaps, Hooks And Eyes
Secure these items to your garment with the transparent tape, and sew through them when sewing to the garment. When you're finished, pull tape off.
Recipe Cards
When you cut out recipes from magazines, tape them to your index cards.
Assemble Small Parts
Whenever you take something apart and don't want to loose any of the small parts, try securing them to a strip of transparent.
Protect Electrical Outlets
Covering your electrical outlets will prevent your toddlers from sticking things into them.
Store Nails
If you want to keep your nails handy, place them between two pieces of adhesive tapes.
Flower Support
When you need to support long-stem flowers in a vase, try taping pieces of tape crisscross the vase and place your flowers in the openings.
Repair Your Stockings Or Panty Hose
Put a piece of adhesive tape across the run in your stockings. It works better if the tape is on the inside. This way your leg is putting pressure against it, to keep the tape in place.
Stop Crumbling Plaster
If you need to nail throw plaster, place your transparent tape in an X, then nail in the center of the X. This stops the plaster from crumbling.
Use On Your Pattern Pieces
You tape your pattern pieces to your fabric if you don't have straight pins.
Repair Paper Money
Tape your torn money to keep it from further tearing.
It is said that in Bangkok, Thailand, the landlords use transparent tape to fix the cracks in the tenants apartment, and that banks where the first to start repairing paper money with adhesive tape.
The tape is water resistant, can be written on and 10 millions yards of it was used by the Ministry of Home Defense in England, to tape up windows during the World War II air raids.
