Traumatic Experience

I was going along
On my own
Without any care,
with no one to share
My dreams or nightmare,
And then you came
Out of nowhere
Making me aware
of the beauty that was there
All along
Humming some song.
I wanted to impart
The feelings that I felt
Deep within my heart.
And I did so, but a bit obscurely,
And I know you understood them surely.
But you never cared
And I never dared
To express them blatantly
For I feared
I might lose you inadvertently.
But I lost you anyway,
As you started drifting away,
Farther and farther.
I called out your name,
Harder and harder.
I was used to walking alone
And to me It never mattered.
But I never thought of waling along
With a heart that is shattered.
