Travel Agencies Score Big with Non-Expiring Frequent Flyer Miles
Delta Air Lines Is Now Allowing SkyMiles Frequent Flyer Members to Keep Their Miles Indefinitely
Online travel agencies are scoring big right now with travelers. Consumers have many options with online travel agencies because they can hunt for the best deals and lowest fares for travel. Online travel agencies Expedia.com, Southwest.com and Jetblue.com were the best agencies to check for airfare deals for consumers who collected frequent flyer miles. That has changed recently because American's fares disappeared on the travel agency websites operated by Expedia and Orbitz.
Consumers should now consider checking with AA.com and Priceline.com because they reached an agreement with American's Fares, which means travelers can now cash in their frequent flyer miles.
Delta Air Lines Inc. is now allowing SkyMiles frequent flyer members to keep their miles indefinitely and are the only airline that offers this option. Before allowing members to keep their frequent flyer miles indefinitely members had to turn in their miles or lose them within twenty-four months from their last qualifying mileage activity.
This change with frequent flyer miles comes after a merge that took place in 2008 between Delta and Northwest Airlines that included the company's two loyalty programs to coordinate together.
With no expiration on frequent flyer miles is this a good or bad situation? No expiration on frequent flyer miles is a huge plus for travelers because it allows them to hold on to their miles and use them when they have time to travel or go on vacation.
The downside to non-expiring miles is frequent flyer programs feel this is a liability and could cost them to lose money instead of earning money. Travelers who do not book and use their miles in a certain time frame cost these programs money because there is no money made if travelers do not fly.
With the economy changing and not for the better consumers want to save as much money as possible when it comes to vacations. What online travel agencies offer the best deals? AA.com and Priceline.com offer travelers the best options when it comes to great deals because they offer what other agencies do not, which is the ability to cash in American Fares frequent flyer miles.
Visit AA.com or Priceline.com to cash in frequent flyer miles and for more information.
