My father took us to visit our roots (Cherokee) back in the 60s. I remember going through the Smoky Mountains on another of our trips to Tennessee, but I think the Cherokee we visited were located in Oklahoma. I could be wrong. Would love to take a trip to Cherokee, North Carolina.

I spent a long weekend in Gatlinburg about 11 years ago, and drove through the Smokies to Cherokee. It was definitely interesting, with Indian street artists, little gift shops, and the scenery was wonderful too. I loved nearby Cades Cove, and also did some mining just outside Franklin and found some Rubies.
