Located about fifty miles southeast of Columbus, The Hocking Hills region includes Rockbridge and Logan. You can find unique cabin rentals, breath taking bed and breakfasts, charming campgrounds, and nice hotels. The Hocking Hills offers lodging options for every price range.
Literally hundreds of cabins are available for nightly or weekly rentals, common features include hot tubs, fireplaces, and serene settings. The Glenlaurel Inn is a beautiful Scottish theme Inn. Here you will enjoy fine dining, spa services, and a private hiking trail that is breath taking! If you want to try your hand at camping, try Campbell's Cove, on Lake Logan Road in Logan Ohio. Nearby you will also find The Holiday Inn, and The Shawnee Inn motel The Shawnee Inn is nice, clean, and affordable, priced around forty dollars per night. Pets are welcome for a small five dollar fee.
The Hocking Hills also offers activities for every price range. Hiking is absolutely spectacular in the Hocking Hills. Most popular parks include Old Mans Cave and Clearcreek Metro Park. You will enjoy shopping and art in the Hocking Hills. The Farmers Flea Market offers the best shopping experience in the area. You also might enjoy an art class at The Logan Art Gallery, or canoeing on the Hocking River.
Off the beaten path, but wonderful and definitely worth visiting include Cantwell Cliffs. This is the least visited of the parks, but the most beautiful. Also the moonville tunnel in the Zaleski forrest. Moonville is rumored to be haunted, and the tunnel is all that is left of the old village. I enjoyed the graffiti in the tunnel especially.
The Hocking Hills also offer exceptional dining options . Most popular are Julie's Café, featuring chef David Schaffer, Lori's Place, and The Sandstone. The 33 Diner in Rockbridge Ohio deserves a mention. This 1950's theme diner is located at the Hocking Hills Farmers Market, and offers great food at good prices. You will enjoy all of the memorabilia , and the juke box. This is a small place, you will experience a wait in the warm months. It is well worth it! A trip to the Hocking Hills isn't complete without stopping by the 33 diner!
The Hocking Hills offers country charm in a beautiful setting. The Hocking Hills are just a short drive from Columbus. Another fact worth mentioning is the Hocking Hills region has been recognized as being one of the most dog friendly locations in the United States.
