The small city of Hoi An, on the South Central Coast of Vietnam has the largest harbor in Southeast Asia. Hoi An has been a major trading port for centuries. Its history is filled with French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese influences. Hoi An has become a not only a major port for Vietnam but also a well visited tourist city as well.

Through the centuries Hoi An has been a major factor in the overall growth of Vietnam. It's location and the desire of the people to use all their available resources to improve their standard of living, turned Vietnam into an important player in the expansion of world trade.

The people of Hoi An have used their creativity and developed a niche market that services people all over the world. Hoi An is known for made to measures clothes that are produced at a fraction of the cost of other countries. Even Hong Kong has a difficult time competing with Hoi An for price and value.
