Tickets
Old Bethpage Village Restoration is open to see from the spring to December. You need to buy a ticket to enter the farm village. A ticket for an adult costs $10, and seniors cost $7 per ticket. Children ages 5-12 tickets cost $7 and children under 5 are free. There is a cafeteria to eat in, or you can bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the picnic areas that are there.
Acres
There are many acres to walk around and enjoy at Old Bethpage Village. There are 209 acres. On these acres you will find 55 plus historic buildings. Many of them are open for you to walk through and view. You really get a sense of how things used to be back in the 19th century. Make sure to wear good walking shoes so that you can truly experience everything.
Demonstrations
There are tons of demonstrations that you can see at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. My favorite was going to see the schoolhouse, and listening to the school teacher talk about how school life was back in the 19th century. I also enjoyed going around Thanksgiving time when they were cooking turkey the old fashioned way at the farmhouse. There are different demonstrations all the time to enjoy and see. All the costumed villagers are a delight to observe and talk to.
Fun
Some fun things to do while being at Old Bethpage Village are spending money. There is an adorable gift shop in the main building to find unique gifts. You can buy candy to eat at Layton's Store. My favorite thing to always do at Old Bethpage Village Restoration is to stop in at Noon Inn to eat pretzels and drink their famous birch beer. I always sit outside in the back of the Noon Inn to enjoy my treat and take a rest for a bit before exploring more of the village.
Events
Always look at Old Bethpage Village Restoration's calendar for some memorable events that take place there. There are Old Civil War re-enactments to enjoy. The Long Island Fair is usually held on the grounds. Like I stated before, Thanksgiving time has always been a really great time to visit Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Whenever, you go I am sure it will be a grand time because Old Bethpage Village Restoration is the type of place you never forget once having gone there.

Post a CommentYes, trips like these are special. I once went to Old Sturbridge Village, and Williamstown in Virginia is a pretty special place. I loved eating at a restaurant that had turkey and stuffing and used pewter, etc. Gotta love it!
Thanks for the review Debbie.
