Travel Tips: Why Bringing a Polaroid Camera on Your Next Trip is a Great Idea

Here's a helpful travel tip: bring a disposable or Polaroid camera on your next trip. Make sure it's a waterproof one to ensure that it isn't damaged by water. It can be hard to find the proper film these days, but it's worth to effort. Of course you can use it to take vacation photos, and in some ways it is easier than bringing a digital camera, so that you won't have to worry about having extra batteries or running into plugs with different voltages. Here are some other ways that your Polaroid can make your next trip easier.

- Can be used to document damage to your person, belongings or rental car.

- If traveling with valuables, photos can be given to police to help them find lost or stolen valuables. (alternatively, take a few copies of photos with you and store in luggage, purse, passport wallet, etc)

- Helps you remember a store, a restaurant, address, layout of the street leading to your hotel, etc. if you don't have a piece of paper to write on.

- Used to mediate issues with your travel agent/hotel/airline if something is not as it was promised to you (ie, hotel room not facing the beach, room is unclean, etc.)

- If you are bad at remembering new faces, take a picture with your new friends/tour guide so you can find them easily in a crowded place.

- Useful for comparing objects from two different stores side by side (useful for selecting souvenirs like a real Persian rug, designer handbags, etc)

By bringing along a Polaroid camera or other brand of disposable camera, you will be able to deal with a myriad of travel-related issues. Tuck one into your carry-on luggage or into your purse before your next trip, and you will find many other ways to use this handy little camera.
