Traveling to Boulder, Colorado

Boulder, Colorado is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. It is the home of the University of Colorado. In addition to its beautiful scenery, there is an abundance of things to do there.

There is a variety of indoor activities. The city is full of restaurants and bars, many of which offer live entertainment. There are dinner theatres, concert halls, movie theatres, shopping malls and more.

Children can take dance, music, theatre and visual arts classes at the Art Underground. There is a variety of children's programs at the public library. The Colorado Mountain Club offers youth programs year round with classes in survival skills and rock climbing.

Sunflower Farm's has the Kids Farmfest where there are pony rides, baby animals to feed, a giant sandbox, a huge tree house and more. The World of Wonder Museum has interactive science and art exhibits that can be enjoyed by children and their families.

Summer activities include hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, tubing, rock climbing, and more. From June to July the outdoor amphitheater on the Colorado campus puts on the second oldest Shakespeare Festival in America. The Pearl Street Mall has outdoor walkways where the shops are filled with a variety of unique items.

Boulder offers some of the best sledding, skiing and snowboarding slopes around. For the physically fit, winter hiking up the mountains can provide fantastic views of the area. Wildlife watching is a favorite in the city. When winter storms come, the elk and deer often come down from the mountains.

Regardless of the season, there is plenty to do and see in Boulder.
