First, as you begin to enter Main Street, USA, you will notice the giant 60 foot decorated Christmas tree that is always displayed on Main Street for a great photo opportunity. As you walk down Main Street, you will be in awe of the Christmas holiday displays that are all around as you listen to the carolers singing holiday songs. The entire park is decorated for the holidays and their are many events from a holiday parade to Sleeping Beauty Castle lighting and the magical fireworks and falling of the snow.
The Christmas Fantasy parade is one that you will want to find a spot early to watch. There are two parades to enjoy each day at 2:30 p.m. and at 5:30 p.m. You will enjoy watching the trumpeting toy soldiers, romping reindeer and skating snowflakes. Many Disney characters are dressed for the holiday occasion, including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and much more.
Small World has been closed recently to get ready for the wintertime festivities and and will reopen November 12, 2010, for the Small World attraction holiday display with it's 300,000 lights and decorations. The Haunted Mansion attraction is transformed into Tim Burton's, The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is an incredible experience. Characters will be dressed in holiday attire all around the park for your child's photo opportunity or to get their favorite characters autograph.
As the 5:00 p.m. hour approaches, you will have an opportunity to view the Wintertime Enchantment Holiday Lighting of the Sleeping Beauty Castle. There are four different times from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to enjoy the spectacular Sleeping Beauty as it lights up and gives out a holiday spirit that everyone will enjoy. Later in the evening, more magic begins at 8:45 p.m. when the Believe In Holiday Magic Fireworks Spectacular will light up the sky with a grand finale and snow falling. Children really love it when the snow falls at Disneyland in Orange County, California.
Since you are visiting Disneyland, a two-day park hopper pass will give you the opportunity to visit California Adventure and see the new World of Color. A two day park hopper pass is $146.00 for ages 3 to 9 and $161.00 for ages 10 and up. This actually allows you to go to both parks on both days, but still experience the Fireworks at Disneyland one night and the World of Color at California Adventure the other night.
