Kentucky is not only the horse park capital of the United States, it is home to the Kentucky Derby. Traveler's from all over the world come to Louisville to visit the infamous Churchill Downs. Even the Queen of England has been spotted there. Derby Day, the first race of the season is celebrated with several events and parties, some beginning as early as two weeks prior to the opening. In addition, there are many smaller attractions that are just as popular. The Commonwealth offers numerous state and recreational parks. Whether your interests include horseback riding, golfing, fishing, hiking, or whatever you enjoy, it can be found here. Many of the parks offer some type of lodging which may include camping sites, cabins, bed and breakfasts, or a hotel if you prefer. Kentucky's parks offer the tourist a chance to revisit a time forgotten and the opportunity to engage in our heritage. Guided tours are often available at many of these sites.
Renfro Valley, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame is one of the places you should check out while visiting. They have a collection of exhibits showcasing Kentucky performers and their history. Abraham Lincoln's birthplace, the Louisville Science Center, Frazier International History Museum, and the Newport Aquarium are just a few of the things you will want to see while in Kentucky. All of the options can not be put onto paper. This is just something that you have to see for yourself.
