Malaysia is one of the most beautiful South East Asian countries and in the recent years it is becoming one of the most popular tourist destination giving tough competition to Singapore.Travelling to Malaysia is real fun and one gets value for money. When I say value for money I really mean it.

One of the main reasons for the growth of tourism in malaysia has been the Aggressive global promotions by MTPB (the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board) to boost tourism arrivals as part of its 'Visit Malaysia Year' campaign. The number of people arriving in Malaysia surpassed the 20 million mark in 2007.Though Singapore continues to see the largest number of arrivals but malaysia has been giving it a very tough competition now.

Hotel occupancy has been on a high since 2007.It is as high as 90% in popular destinations like Genting. Other accommodations apart from hotels like self serviced apartments , hostels , guest houses also saw high rate of occupance due to increase in budget travellers from countries like India, Thailand, China,Vietnam an Indonesia.

One of the most important reason for people choosing to travel to Malaysia is the value for money that they get over here. You can book hotels at real cheap prices compared to other countries and due to a lot of low cost carriers flying to Malaysia is not expensive anymore.

Malaysia is a shoppers paradise.Shoppers can shop within the cool comforts of one-stop multi-story shopping complexes or at sidewalk stalls, bazaars, and night markets .Among the items high on the shopping list of tourists are pewter, batik, duty free items, electrical products, sportswear and handicrafts. For a very different experience visit the night markets or 'pasar malam' which begin their trading activities in the late afternoon. The Shopping Carnival, an annual sale held in March/April in Kuala Lumpur and other major cities in Malaysia is an opportunity time to pick up great bargains. Kuala Lumpur, the national capital, has a number of shopping districts. The most popular is the Bukit Bintang area.

Malaysia has many kinds of restaurants almost everywhere in the cities and towns. You can find all kinds of cuisines from Malay, Chinese,Indian, Thai,Continental and many more.
If you are travelling to Malaysia then I will advise you to try malay food.It is a bit spicy and flavorful.Popular Malaysian dishes include satay, rendang, roti canai, murtabak, laksa, chicken rice, and fried noodles.

When in Kulalumpur i would suggest you to go and see Sunway Lagoon.Sunway Lagoon is the country's first international standard water theme park. The park consists of two parts, the Water Park and the Adventure Park.

One of the most popular places in Malaysia are Kualalumpur, Genting, Pahang, Port Dickson, Selangor and Johor. If your are planning a visit to malaysia I would recommend to try and see these places.
