Travelocity Fails to Stand by Their Contract
Travelocity Failed to Honor Contract Obligation for Actress Ashlyn, Costing Her Additional Thousands
The travel group Travelocity.com failed to honor their contract obligations, when it came to travel plans made by Ashlyn Dixon's representation. Dixon's trip on May 4,2007 from Dallas to Los Angeles was booked through Travelocity.com and pre-paid at the time of booking. Once Dixon arrived in Los Angeles, the entire trip became a nightmare for the "Logan Milan" model. Travelocity failed to reserve her car with Alamo Rental Car and they failed to notify her of the construction that was going on at The Hyatt, in West Hollywood.(Where Dixon had planned to stay.)
Alamo Rental Car would not honor her Travelocity confirmation code, forcing Dixon to pay an additional $600.00 at another car rental agency. She was out $80 in taxi fees, getting to and from the hotel and other rental agency. The Hyatt, in West Hollywood, was under construction and the amenities that were listed on the Travelocity Web Site were unavailable. Dixon phoned Travelocity and spoke with Supervisor Helga (she would not give her last name) and tried to get the hotel switched. She placed the call on speaker, so that it could be witnessed by the Hyatt Manager. Helga, was both rude and abrupt. She said that she could move Miss Dixon at HER expense, even after the hotel had been pre-paid. Miss Dixon was out an additional $1,320 correcting this issue.
Attorney Lisa Cates, legal representation for the model/actress called Travelocity upon Dixon's arrival back into Dallas. Cates spoke with Haim (again, no last name given) and his response: Travelocity would refund $287 to Dixon for the rental car. He said that she would have to go to court to have the rest of Dixon's money refunded. Haim stated this was the Travelocity policy.
The contract that Miss Dixon agreed to, was very clear about refunds and relocation. It is the responsibility of Travelocity.com to make such refunds in a timely manner and relocate at the expense of Travelocity. Their commercials boast that they notify their clients of construction and other issues ahead of time and that they stand by their word concerning reservations.
Dixon will be filing a Fraud claim in Tarrant County Court against Travelocity.com on May 9,2007.
A statement from Dixon," Never trust that cute roaming knome! He should be called the lying knome! I almost didn't make it to my photo shoot and I spent my entire trip on hold with Travelocity. I was on hold a total of 2 hrs and 37 minutes. I am not letting them do this to someone else!"
