Treasure Island Casino Has Quietly Put Together a Great Poker Room

Though It's Relatively Unknown in Las Vegas, the TI Poker Room is a Good One

In the Las Vegas poker scene, there are different ways to identify rooms and they are often separated into two different categories. There are the big rooms such as the Bellagio, the Wynn, and the MGM Grand. Then, there are the small rooms. Each has something a little bit different to offer to the players and different players all seem to favor a different casino. It's just a matter of personal preference, I suppose. I am a small room kind of guy and one of my favorite small rooms in Las Vegas is the poker room at Treasure Island. TI, as it is so often called, has one of the friendliest poker rooms that I've ever walked into.

The most popular game at the Treasure Island poker room is the $1/$3 no-limit game. Because the maximum buy-in is $500, players are able to get their money on the table quickly. This also doubles as one of the most popular and competitive games in all of Las Vegas, so it suits more experienced players who might have a bit of an edge on the rest of the amateur crowd.

Since this room is relatively new, players will be treated to new flatscreen televisions on every wall. In addition to those comforts, most players love the big, comfortable chairs and the new tables. While they lack a little bit in tradition with their decorated tables, they are extremely comfortable and easy to play on. This room is small, but players never seem too cramped. In general, you will feel like it's just right.

The cocktail service at the Treasure Island poker room leaves a little bit to be desired. During my time there, they came around extremely infrequently. Though they looked pretty nice, I only saw them come by once every 45 minutes or so. For a poker room that is not very big, this is unacceptable. When I did get my drinks, I found them to be of a high quality. Their margarita was one of the best drinks I had during my trip to Las Vegas.

All in all, this poker room offers an intimate setting with new world comforts. It combines all of the best features of old school poker rooms and the mega-rooms of the Bellagio and MGM Grand. For players that are looking for a good low limit game, the $1/$3 at the TI is the best thing going.
