Treat Your Dry Hair to Revitalizing Olive Oil

Viktorya Hale
For ladies who struggle with frizzy or dry hair, there is a remedy. It won't cost you an arm and a leg, just to go to a beautitian so they can add even more chemicals. This can be done with olive oil that you buy at your local grocery for about $6-8 per bottle.

I guess you can say that I learned this through trial and error. I know that olive oil is a wonderful home remedy. When my kids get their yearly ear ache, we skip the doctor and grab the bottle of oilve oil. You may even consider warming it up slightly, if you decide to use it for ear aches. It works, everytime! Since we are talking about olive oil, let's head on over to what the title says.

My hair is dry. Hard thing to admit, but it is. Factors that contribute to my dry hair is this humid climate and the fact that I cannot really afford the hair products that I would love to use. That is why I started trying different things. One thing that I noticed would be the best for my hair (and skin) is All Natural Virgin Olive Oil. I thought "what the heck, it's worth a shot".

I feel that the best time to do this is right before it is time to shampoo your hair. Really and truly it is not good to actually shampoo your hair everyday. This alone can dry your hair out. Your skin oils from your scalp are really good for the ends of your hair. It is good to brush the natural oils through your hair in about 100 strokes, daily.

I put a good amount of Olive Oil in the palm of my hand and started with the ends. In a downward motion, I pressed my hair between my hands to smooth the olive oil thouroughly through my hair. I did this until the ends were well saturated.

I then took a comb (please be sure that your hair is thouroughly combed through before adding the oil) and combed through my hair. When all my hair was combed through, I got more oil and began massaging it through my entire scalp. This stimulates hair growth (both the olive oil and massaging). I combed through again.

When my hair was combed, I french braided it and left the oil in for about an hour or so. I just washed it after that to rinse. My hair was so soft when it dried. I am going to continue this weekly. The next time I think I may warm up the oil and leave it in all night. Nonetheless, I believe olive oil will take care of my dry hair so I wanted to share that with you.
