Treat the MRSA Superbug with Emu Oil

Emu Oil is a medical miracle. It treats arthritis, muscle pain, and a host of skin conditions. Celebrities swear Emu Oil is a must-have anti-aging product. Now, the medical community sees Emu Oil as the most fitting and promising topical treatments for MRSA.

The Superbug, Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), is an organism that is resistant to commonly used antibiotics. It enters the skin through cuts and abrasions, and develops boils on the skin. The boils grow and spread to other parts of the body. It can also kill if not treated. The spread of MRSA has increased over the years, making each new strain harder to cure through antibiotics. Doctors can drain the boils, but that alone will not rid of the organism. Now, Emu oil may be able to treat or cure this health crisis.

Emu oil comes from Emus, Australia's national bird. These birds can grow up to two meters (six feet, seven inches, and weigh over 100 pounds fully-grown. Emus have a pad of fat on their back that is refined into emu oil, and can cost up to $400 a gallon.

The demand for Emu Oil derives from its unique properties. Emu oil is bacteriostatic, meaning that the oil doesn't promote the growth of bacteria. It lacks fatty acids, which allow the oil to penetrate all seven layers of the skin. No other oil has this property. It is Noncomedogenic, so it will not clog pores, and its natural fatty composition is very much like our own skin cells, making it hypoallergenic. The anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties of the oil go directly to the treated area.

Emu Oil is a great carrier, meaning it works great with other lotions and topical treatments. Patent pending products consist of Emu Oil in a pharmacal topical solution to treat MRSA. Meanwhile, doctors recommend using Emu Oil alone on affected areas, hoping to stabilize the treatment area until antibiotics start working. Because MRSA may not heal with a first round of antibiotics, Emu oil will sustain the spread and intensity of the boil.

It may not seem to make sense to apply oil to an oozing boil. However, Emu oil will help prevent the spread of the organism. It is wise to use a cotton ball or Q-tip to apply the Emu oil to an infected MRSA boil. In addition, after the doctor drains the boil, a scar may form. Again, Emu oil comes to the rescue because it is an excellent at preventing and treating scars.

MRSA is very difficult to treat for persons who have had this condition before. MRSA builds a resistance to every antibiotic it treats. Once MRSA is treated with an antibiotic, that antibiotic won't work the next time because the strain learned to live through it. If a person continuously gets MRSA, it is better to prevent these infections by using a daily solution of Gentamicin Sulfate Cream USP 0.1% to apply in the nose, where most staph resides.
