Treating Blackheads and Face Blemishes Naturally

Clear Skin Isn't a Dream!

Michy Jr.
I was blessed with flawless skin most of my life. Rarely have I ever had to deal with a blackhead or a blemish, but my daughter, she's a different story. The poor child hit the teen years and struggled with clear skin. It was so hard to convince her that she should not squeeze and pop the blackheads, because that would only make them worse.

So just how do you get rid of blackheads and get rid of facial blemishes? Well, we took our faces down to the mall and consulted a local beautician and got the inside scoop on how to treat and get rid of blackhead and get rid of facial blemishes.

First, we were right - DON'T SQUEEZE! When you squeeze your delicate skin on the face, you are potentially scarring your skin and breaking the skin so that infection and bacterial can enter, and this might just make blackhead worse!

If you are unsure of what your particular facial needs are, you can make an appointment with a facialist at your local salon or beauty parlor. The facialist will be able to show you exactly what to do for your specific skin problems.

However, if you can't afford a facialist to get rid of your blackheads or blemishes, you can learn to do it yourself and have flawless skin too, and you can do it without expensive products. Instead, let's look out a step by step guide we were taught to get rid of blackhead and get rid of facial blemishes.

Step One to Treating Blackheads - Steam Your Face

You don't have to buy an expensive steamer. Simply turn on the hottest water in your sink you can, and get a bath towel and drape it over your head. Hover your face over the sink and cover both your head and the sink with the towel so you trap the steam under the towel. Stay under the towel for anywhere from 5-20 minutes, depending on how dirty your face feels. The point is too open pours and loosen up oils and dirt that might be clogged in your pours.

Step Two to Treating Blackheads - Blot Face with Tissues

Paying particular attention to the areas with blackheads, provide constant pressure against the face with tissues. You should begin to see dirt and oil coming off on the tissue. If the face becomes dry, re-steam it and continue repeating this process. Do not pinch or poke the skin and try not to break the skin, but be sure the pressure is hard enough to force the oils to come to the surface.

Step Three to Treating Blackheads - Re-steam Face

Once you have finished blotting, re-steam your face for a few minutes just to ensure you have loosened all the dirty and oil.

Step Four to Treating Blackheads - Wash Face with Soap and Warm Water

Wash your face with a mild soap, or a soap made for acne treatment, and then rinse completely with warm water. Your face will feel slightly damp and hydrated when you are finished.

Step Five to Treating Blackheads - Use a Blackhead Extracting Natural Mask

Using two egg whites and 1 tsp. of unflavored gelatin, add two tablespoons of water and mix on the stove until hot. Let it stand until it thickens and cools enough to put on your face. This mixture will gel and set on your face, like an expensive facial mask, and you can let it dry for 10-20 minutes, and then slowly peel the mask from your face. The gelatin will settle in your pores and when you peel it, the oils and blackheads will be lifted from your face.

The last step is to wash up your face and apply your cosmetics as you normally would. Remember, oil-based cosmetics are more likely to cause blackheads, so go with oil-free or powder based cosmetics instead.
