The Skin Abscess And Boil
This is a painfully sore skin eruption that is a round inflamed bump that can appear on the face, buttocks, arm pits, neck and groin. It comes from a staph bacteria that fills that bump with pus from white blood cells that fight infection, and dead skin. You can treat this by using a cold moist cloth to the area until the pain goes away. Alternate this with a hot compress from 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt in boiled water to make the pus come out. Put an adhesive bandage over it to protect it. However, call the doctor if red streaks appear, because it is a sign of an infection.
Insect Bites
Bites from mosquito's, fleas, spiders and bee stings can either irritate the skin or be painful. Some people can become allergic to bees. The animal may try to warn the child, but the child is persistent making the animal bite them. Since animals tend to carry germs that can be harmful. It is best to wash the wound with soap and warm water. Then, apply rubbing alcohol to the wound and take the child to the doctor to get a tetanus shot.
Human Bites
Children often get in disagreements with one another, and the only way they think they can solve it is through biting. The best thing to do is wash the wound like you would for an animal bite. You should immediately go to the doctor to get penicillin or antibiotics for your child in case of an infection. After all, humans have germs that are just as bad as animal germs.
Minor Burns
Sometimes children can gets burns from touching a hot item, or sunburns during play. There are three degrees of burns in which the first is only on the top layer of skin, the second degree burn affects the top layer and the one underneath that one. The third degree burn is much worse, because it goes deeper to the tissues which would need grafts done to the skin to help it grow. The best treatment is to put a cold compress on it or run cold water over it to numb the pain. Then put a loose gauze over it with first aid tape to keep it protected pain and blister free. The doctor should give a tetanus shot to the child to prevent infection.
Do not give any aspirin to children or teenagers at this time, but ibuprofen would be the best solution for pain. Expect a change in the color of the skin, but watch out for pain that lasts too long.
The best solution is to keep the affected area clean, and put calamine lotion on it to stop the itch. Rashes can occur from a variety of problems such as food reaction, bacteria infection or even a serious disease. Rashes can also take on many forms from round to hives to blisters. Eczema
This itchy irritation of the skin is a thickened and red condition that weeps and cracks. It is often caused by allergies to certain foods like dairy milk, wheat, eggs, chocolate, and even citrus fruits.
