Treating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Naturally

Natural Remedies for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Treating chronic fatigue syndrome naturally becomes the option for many of those suffering from this health issue. The anti-inflammatory medications that are prescribed by doctors can prove to be harsh on the digestive system and there are those who would rather implement natural ways to manage chronic fatigue syndrome. Often this is the case, especially if they have been wrestling with it for a greater length of time to avoid side effects from the medications.

Fortunately, the alternative health community has a wide range of options with regard to diet, lifestyle and supplements that can be of great assistance in alleviating a lot of symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome. When I owned and operated my own health food retail business, our staff and I would frequently suggest a lot of these alternatives, and you can find this information readily available over the internet as well as I've included at the end of this article. Here's a few suggestions many of my clients found helpful.

Digestive Enzymes

Adequate digestion is imperative to everyone's health in general, but even more so for those with chronic fatigue syndrome. The reason for that lies in the fact that many of those with this problem seem to be deficient in a lot of nutrients. In this case it becomes necessary to be sure that they have sufficient nutrient absorption. One way to be sure of that is to incorporate digestive enzymes into the daily routine. Taking these before a meal will boost the nutrient uptake of the foods eaten, getting the most nutrition out of the meal as possible.

Food Allergies

As someone involved in alternative health for quite sometime now, I've seen a pattern of people with food allergies encountering chronic fatigue syndrome frequently. This makes sense to me because food allergies will cause inflammation in various parts of the body, hence the reason anti-inflammatory drugs provide relief for a lot of people. It may help to try eliminating one food at a time to help narrow down which foods could be a problem for you. My suggestion is to start with wheat and work through the grains first.

Supplements

Focusing on supplements that assist the body in creating it's own energy seems to be helpful to those with chronic fatigue syndrome. To start with, you might try an amino acid called Carnitine, as well as CoQ10. These two supplements are instrumental in providing the mitochondria, the energy portion of the cells with the nutrition it needs to create adequate amounts of energy. I've had clients from my health food store come back to me with remarks that after using those supplements over a few weeks time, they notice a positive difference in their energy levels.
