When we finally were able to sit down at our table, we had a great view of Lake Huron/St. Clair River. It was nothing but smiles from there on out. Our server, Mike, was very attentive, bringing us our drinks very promptly. He had a great personality and was very likable. The buffet at the Thomas Edison Inn was even better than the service. There was a wide variety of foods to choose from to please everyone. For starters, the salad portion of the buffet had tossed salad, ambrosia salad, pasta salad, as well as cole slaw. There was also a relish tray, vegetable tray, as well as cheese and crackers, croissants and buns. For the main part of our meal, there was freshly carved roast beef and ham with Au Jus sauce and pineapple sauce respectively available. In addition, there was seared chicken breast with artichoke and spinach cream sauce, roasted pork loin with apple brandy sauce, baked cod Mediterranean, portabella mushroom ravioli with marinara sauce, rice pilaf, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, corn, and tomato basil soup. There was also a seafood section of the buffet which featured cold shrimp and crab, smoked white fish and salmon. I think everyone's favorite part of this delicious meal was the dessert table which featured treats such as bread pudding with wine sauce, cheese cake, brownies, and other assorted fancy desserts, many of which were chocolate. All this for the price of $18.95 for adults and $10.95 for kids.
The Thomas Edison Inn is one of the premier, upscale dining spots in Port Huron. All tables are located in a dinning area full of windows so that can you see the great view of the water and our Canadian neighbors right across the river,. This is all located under the International Blue Water Bridges. You can also see the Canadian Point Edward Charity Casino as well. With service and food as great as what had on this wonderful occasion, the Thomas Edison Inn can expect us all to be returning customers.
