Treating a Vaginal Yeast Infection at Home

Have you ever wondered if you could treat a vaginal yeast infection from home without going to see the doctor for a prescription? If you have and don't know how, read on to find out some home remedies for naturally curing vaginal yeast infections. Of course, these remedies do not replace medical treatment or diagnose a probllem. If your problem does not resolve itself with these methods, seek medical treatment to find out if another infection is present.

Try using garlic to relieve the symptoms of a yeast infection. You can use garlic to rid a vaginal yeast infection in one of two ways. First, you can crush a whole garlic clove with a garlic crusher and mix it into a small amount of water. Drink the garlic and water mixture and do this as often as needed until the yeast infection is gone. You may also insert a garlic clove into the vagina as often as needed. More than likely, the garlic inserted into the vagina will provide instant relief for any symptoms that are present.

If you have a vaginal yeast infection, try douching with apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar will kill any yeast that is present. Purchase a squirt bottle and some apple cider vinegar. Do not buy plain white vinegar, as this will make the yeast infection worse. Be aware that the apple cider vinegar will burn when you douche with it. Some women also will use the apple cider in their bathwater, but douching with it will work better and faster. Douching with store brand douches does not do the same thing and should be avoided.

If apple cider vinegar is not the cure you are seeking, try yogurt. Eating plain, unsweetened yogurt aides the body in producing good bacteria and reducing bad bacteria that leads to yeast infections. To rid a yeast infection, purchase plain, unsweetened yogurt (no fruit or flavorings) and a box of tampons. Dip the tampon into the yogurt and insert into the vagina. You may also apply the yogurt on the outside if burning or itching is present. Do not leave the yogurt in the vagina for more than 2-3 hours or you may notice the problem getting worse.

Drinking water helps to flush your system out and you should drink atleast 8 glasses of water each day.
