"Treatment for Hole in the Head in Fishes"

Seth
This type of fish disease usually occurs on large fishes such as Oscars, Flowerhorns and other large tropical fishes. It is caused by a flagellated protozoan called Hexamita. Water in tanks that are not well maintained, unwashed gravel, and some particles from activated carbon which could probably cause irritation are the main factors that could trigger this disease to your fish. Fishes with this disease starts to manifest small lumps on its head like pimples, it would gradually become bigger if untreated right away.

Here are some Useful Steps to help you in treating your fish infected with such disease:

1) Transfer your fish to a separate tank depending on its size with well treated water.

2) Remove activated carbon in your filter box if you are using it. Clean your filter media thoroughly.

3) Food enriched with vitamins A-C is the most preferable diet for your fish.

4) Feeding it with garlic may be effective as some of my friends who have tried using it as a means of treatment for this disease would say.

5) Introduce Octozin to your fish. Dissolve a tablet of which depending on the quantity of water in the tank.

6) Maintain a consistent level of PH to avoid stress to the fish.

7) Repeat steps 2-6 until all the holes or lumps have cleared out.

Your fish may never look the same again but the least we can do is save them from this dreadful disease. Better yet, we wouldn't want this to happen to our fishes, as much as possible we should take preventive measures by keeping our tanks clean all the time. Providing our fishes with a healthy environment is the best thing we hobbyist can do for our lovely pets to swim happily in there tanks. Happy Fish Keeping Guys!
