When I visited the Tree House for the first time, I was genuinely surprised at how well run it was, but most of all, the interaction by the staff and volunteers was phenomenal. When you volunteer, though, they do try to have you commit to a certain amount of hours every month, so if you don't think that you can give them the amount they ask for, maybe you should wait and sign up when you have more time. They also host some nice events for the volunteers like their "Social Nights" event, where you get a chance to meet other volunteers. If you want more information on their volunteer opportunities or information on how you can adopt a pet, call 773-784-5488 ext. 228.
If the Bucktown location isn't convenient for you, you can ask about volunteering at their Headquarters located at 1212 West Carmen, Chicago.
