The TRESemmé anti-breakage shampoo and conditioner was affordable. Both came in thirty two ounce bottles and I bought them on sale for $3 each. They're normally almost four dollars a bottle.
Conversely, the Sunsilk HydraTLC shampoo is a good value too. The prices are also just under four dollars. The bottles are a little smaller at 12 ounces, but if you are like me and prefer to switch shampoos every now and then, you probably don't want the bigger TRESemmé bottles anyway. The smaller, less bulky bottles are easier to store and handle when wet, too.
The scents of both products were nice. TRESemmé and Sunsilk have fresh, clean scents that don't have too much fruit or flower undertones. The scents are also not overpowering, so they won't compete with any fragrance you'll be wearing but your hair will still smell nice.
Now on to the really important part - do the products live up to the statements on the packaging? Yes. The TRESemmé anti-breakage products did help prevent breakage and make my hair feel stronger. However, I became concerned that the products were leaving-build up on my hair. After long term use I had to use a clarifying shampoo to get my hair to look normal again.
In comparison, the Sunsilk HydraTLC products deliver as well. The packaging states that your hair will be moisturized and smooth, and my hair definitely feels much softer and smoother. My hair is fine and thin, so I was concerned that moisturizing shampoo would weigh my hair down, but so far this has not been the case. As an added bonus, these products have helped with my dry itchy scalp.
Overall both products are good. What would be even better is a product that combines the elements from TRESemmé anti-breakage and Sunsilk HydraTLC that I really like: products that strengthen and provide extra moisture to the hair, packaged in smaller, more manageable bottles. I can't really recommend one over the other since they do different things. Decide what your hair needs more (strength or extra moisture) and these products should serve you well.
