He is very humble and doesn't brag, but does share a bit of himself with us here. He also writes about his family, who are just as awesome as he portrays them to be. His wife, Dixie is truly the beautiful and special person he describes in his poetry. They have one of the very rare "childhood sweetheart" relationships that have endured and stood through the tests of a lifetime. They should be commended for their devotion to each other. In a society where so many of us have given up and "thrown in the towel", they have stuck it out. Divorce is rampant in this country, and I am so proud of them for staying together and raising such a beautiful family.
Some people may tend to judge him for what he chooses to write about, but it is not our place to judge others. We are all entitled to our own beliefs, and only God can judge us. Only he knows what is in our hearts.
I have a lot of respect with David for having the nerve to share his thoughts with others. He is willing to stand up and speak on subjects many of us tiptoe around. The subjects we avoid for fear of offending someone, he approaches head-on. For those who seem to want to judge him criticize his opinions, maybe you should read everything he has written. Try to gain a more realistic view of the person he is. He reveals much of himself through his writing. He is an amazing person, who has endured tremendous hardships.
Sometimes David writes from deep within his heart, and it is amazing and intense. Other times, he is just passing on information, or relaying the opinions of others. One thing you may know, if you read his articles regularly, is that he is a very compassionate person. He respects others and their beliefs, and doesn't shun them because they are different. He will, however, take a stand against those who attack or condemn him or other writers for their expressing their opinions. For those of you who know him only through his writing, I just want to say that David truly is a masterpiece in person, as well!

Aww, what a beautiful tribute to a friend. :-)
I am sure Web is honored. He is a great guy. Great story!!!!!
David RULES!!!! Screw anybody who judges him; they're only judging themselves!! He wrote a great review of my shitty little homemade CD, every word sincere! Not many would even bother to do that for an unknown musician, especially for free!
Thank you for all your awesome comments. I am so happy to have found such good friends here. David lifted me up and brought me here, when I didn't even know how much I needed this. I'm so glad to know that some of you can also see the goodness in his heart. David felt I made him sound a little soft. I just want everyone to know that just because he has a heart and may even shed a tear, he has the strength of a warrior. For those who have seen his through his writing, though, you already know! :-)
You are a tremendously great friend, he's lucky to have you in his life, welcome to AC.
