Area Malls: many malls will be holding an annual trick or treating at the mall event for the general public. Times and locations are as follows:
Bellevue Center, Nashville (5:00pm-8:00pm), 646-8690.

Opry Mills, Nashville (5:00pm-7:00pm, costume contest at 6:00pm), 514-1100.
Opry Mills mall will also be offering a free crafts event at the guest services area while supplies last, a costume contest for ages 8 and under at the entertainment stage area and a Halloween magic show. The mall will be giving away Halloween goofy glasses, finger puppets and monster necklaces to area trick or treaters while supplies last. The costume contest has categories for 2 and under, ages 3-5 and ages 6-8. Prizes for best costume are gift certificates to participating mall locations.
Local area festivities:
The Nashville Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring an "Old Fashioned Carnival" on Oct. 30th. from 6 to 8 pm. A designated area between Main Street and West Shepherd and Hempstead Street will be closed to all traffic. The festival is open to the public and free events for the kids include bobbing for apples, game booths, a haunted house and trick or treating to all the local businesses located in this area. Hermitage Hills Baptist Church will hold its annual Trunk or Treat at 3 locations this year from 5 to 7:30 pm on Halloween night. The event is free to the public and trick or treating is open to children in 6th grade and under. There will be free hot dogs and drinks provided to visitors and inflatable activities for the kids at each location. The main campus is located at 3475 Lebanon Pike in Hermitage, TN. The other 2 locations for this event will be held at The Rayon City Campus at 309 Rayon Drive in Old Hickory, TN and at the Mt. Juliet middle school in Mt. Juliet.
The City of Goodlettsville will have it's annual Pumpkin Festival at Moss Wright Park on Halloween night between 5 and 7:30 pm. Local area businesses will be handing out candy from tables and booths throughout the event. It's free to the public and has a huge selection of special events as well at trick or treating for the kiddies ages 12 and under. The Huntington Learning Center will be holding a costume contest between 5 and 6 pm for age categories 1-6 and 7-12 with one winner from each category receiving a $100 gift certificate to Toys R Us. Tyson will be sponsoring an entertainment area with inflatable events and games along with the local Girl Scouts association. Kroger's is holding a Smores area and the local Parks Department will be taking groups out for hayrides.
Springhill finishes out its 2nd annual Movie in the Park series with a Halloween blow out special event on Oct. 25th at Harvey Park. Admission is free to the public, but visitors are encouraged to bring a canned food donation for the local food bank. Festivities include a Halloween themed free movie screening, games and booths sponsored by local businesses, trick or treating throughout the park, and a costume contest all starting at 5 pm. Adults and kids alike are encouraged to dress in costume. For more information call 931-487-0027.
Halloween on the square in Lebanon, TN. About a half hour from downtown Nashville, the city of Lebanon will host its annual Halloween on the square with trick or treating with local merchants for the kids, costume contests and games. The party is open to the public at no charge and will last from 5 to 9 pm
Trick or Treating on the square in historic downtown Murfreesboro, about a half hour drive from Nashville will celebrate Halloween safety for kids by sponsoring their annual Halloween on the square. Kids can dress up and trick or treat among the town square merchant locations from 3:30 pm till dark on Halloween day.
Portland, TN will hold it's 6th annual Trick or Treat on Main Street between 4 and 6 pm on Halloween day. Free to the public. Local businesses will hand out candy and treats. Portland invites anyone who wishes to hand out candy to set up a booth for the event on the Main Street location. Call 615-325-6464 for directions and other info. .
Historic Germantown will have it's annual Trick or Treat on Halloween night. 5th Ave. North between cross streets Monroe and Madison will be closed to traffic between 5 - 8 pm for safe trick or treating at local area businesses and anyone who wishes to handout candy is invited to come down and set up a booth. Free to the public.
Church sponsored parties and events:
Belmont Church located at 68 Music Square East in Nashville,Tn will host a Hallejuah Praise Party on Halloween night between 6 and 8:30 pm at their fellowship hall. The party is open to the public for ages 3 through grade school. No admission free but participatnts are requested to bring a 2 liter drink and some none scary type candy if your children are permitted to have them. Call Mindy Hyatt at 615-256-2123 ext. 266 for directions and church requests regarding costuming guidelines. Belmont Church is a none denominational church.
West End Church of Christ located at 3534 West End Ave will be having a fall festival on Oct. 26th. The party will last from 3 - 6 pm with "trunk or treat" starting at 5:30. Admission to the festival is free to the public with events tailored to the younger grade school aged children. Events will include games, food, children's activities, live music, prizes, contests, face painting and more. Call 615-383-7450 for more details and directions.
Westmoreland First Baptist Church located at 1114 Pleasant Grove Rd. in Westmoreland, TN invites the public to join in their annual trunk or treat this Halloween night. There will be games, inflatables, contests, prizes and more. Trick or treating for ages 12 and under, admission is free to the public. The event will be held across the street from the church in the town park and the area will be closed to all through traffic for the event.
The Donelson Fellowship Church located at 3210 McGavock Pike in Donelson, TN invites the public to join them at their "Trunk or Treat" event on the 26th from 5 -7 pm. The event will include games, prizes, costume contests, live music and free hotdogs chili and drinks as long as they last. Call 615-871-4769 for more details.
