Trick-Or-Treat Fun with Your Spouse this Halloween

Having a Little Fun with Your Spouse Can Make This Holiday Spooky Fun

Don't you just love this time of year? Fall is just around the corner and that means the fresh crisp air, and of course Halloween. I've always loved this time of year and I know I'm not alone. Even if you don't have kids, there's something about Halloween that brings out the child in everyone. Maybe it's the leaves on the ground, all the candy, or the looks on the little faces as they come to your door. Whatever it is, Halloween can be fun for you and your spouse too!

I always like to surprise my husband--I even took him away on a surprise vacation for his 30th birthday. We like to do that for each other, gives you fun things to look forward to and makes for great memories. Holidays are no different, we have our little traditions for each one and like to make each one an affair to remember. You can come up with surprises or tricks that need not be evil--they can still pack a punch without causing the other one to fear for their life. One year I decorated the house, complete with two pumpkins to carve. Carving pumpkins and then making fresh roasted pumpkin seeds is something that we've done together since we've been dating, but decorating the house is something that was a nice surprise for him to come home to. I even decorated the front yard with a few spooky things such as "tombs" and spider webs. I also got costumes for both of us and my husband was quite surprised to see me come down the stairs in a cute angel costume--he was even more surprised to see that I had a devil's costume.

We also tend to have a great sense of humor, that's part of what makes us great friends as well as husband and wife. The tricks in our house seem to never end, and of course Halloween is no exception to the rule. I planted little surprises such as when my husband pulled the cord to draw the blinds, a spooky noise went off. I also hid a rubber spider in the candy dish--nothing evil, but it was sure fun to see him jump a bit in good fun. You have to laugh and enjoy the holidays and any precious time that you can, life is too short and a little trick or surprise here or there can make for a great memory.
