Tricks for IPod Touch

My iPod Takes Pictures of Itself

Sounds weird right? Well, it is, but it's true and it's easy to do to. Now if your like me, you'll have absolutely no idea how it does such a thing. A little while ago I was surfing through my saved photos, and I saw that somehow my iPod had taken a 'picture' of my sleep screen (the screen you see when you unlock your iPod). I thought perhaps it was just a fluke. But just the other day I saw that yet again my iPod had yet again taken a picture of itself but this time it was a picture of my home screen. So with a little experimenting and searching I found out that though it was an accident, it was no fluke.

Here's how it works:

Choose a shot or picture you want to save* and then simply click your home button and click your sleep/lock button on the top of your iPod at the same time. Try to do this relatively quickly other wise you may end up closing out of the window or app. Your iPod screen will flash a light white, make a little clicking noise and there you have it. Check your saved images and now you have a picture or 'screenshot'.

*Some uses for this feature are perhaps application 'screenshots', which you can upload to sites or just use for fun (such as virtual pets etc.), as well as some pictures that won't save, like IMDb or Flickr, or Blogspot photos that wont let you save the image. You can also take pictures of video shots or application screenshots.

Saving an Image

Saving an image might be the simplest thing you could ever do on your iPod, yet it's something that a lot of iPod owners don't know exists. So, it's simple. When you find an image you want to save, simply hold your finger down on the photo. After a few seconds a little window will slide up with a few options, typically 'copy' and 'save image'. Just click save image and you're done. JavaScript

How to Set Wallpapers

Start off by going into your 'Photos' icon on your iPod home screen. Then select a photo you want as your background, then press the little box with the arrow in it on the lower left corner of your photo bar and then hit 'use as wallpaper'. From there you can size it, by zooming or positioning with your fingers then hit 'set wallpaper'.
