Tricks, Treats, and Secrets

Passing the Torch

Mona Rigdon
A Halloween Poem to Tristan, Alyssa, Jasmine & Gabby
From Mom

Candy corn and chocolate
Taffy and Caramel squares
Ghosts and witches
Frankenstein scares
Screams, laughs
Kids with no cares
It's Halloween time again

I remember the days
of my trick or treat

Who with candy did not meet
My sugary expectations

I see smiles, hear whispered plans
I let my old tricks "slip"
To smiles, and gasps behind hands
Now they know my secrets
Halloween is their magical land
One day they'll share my secrets with their little ghouls.
