Trident Layers Gum - Triple the Fruit, Triple the Flavor

I like chewing gum. Even when I'm bored, I'll pop a piece of gum in my mouth and chew away. I have noticed that with most fruit flavored gums, either the flavor does not last very long or the fruit flavor is more overwhelming than the mint freshness that gum should provide. I happened to come across Trident's new "Layers" gum in the supermarket one day and picked one up to give it a try. I had seen television commercials about it before and wondered if this would live up to the claims in the advertisements.

Now the main premise of this gum is that it contains layers of "real fruit flavor". When I first tried one of these, I noticed that the flavor was intense! There was definitely a strong fruit flavor present and it lasted for a very long time. The other plus about this is then even when the fruit flavor slowly went away, the mint taste still lingered guaranteeing fresh breath. When I bought this, I saw that there were two flavors available: "Wild Strawberry + Tangy Citrus", and "Green Apple + Golden Pineapple". I got the "Wild Strawberry + Tangy Citrus", and it's definitely tangy! I definitely want to try out the "Green Apple + Golden Pineapple" and see how that flavor turns out.

These are sold in individual packs and triple packs. Each single pack contains 14 pieces of sugar free gum. Individual packs retail for around a dollar, and triple packs sell for about $2.50. The prices are pretty average, but for a gum that provides more flavor and freshness, then it's more worth your money. The gum sticks come in a bi fold paper container for convenience and to prevent from the gum sticks from falling out everywhere.

My only complaints about this product is one, the lack of flavor varieties to choose from, and two, the gum can be a bit tough to chew initially. I'm sure as this gum increases in its popularity, the flavor selection will expand. I would recommend trying this new gum out, especially if you like fruit flavors and want that extra kick of mint afterwards for long lasting fresh breath.
