Tropic Thunder Halloween Costume: Tugg Speedman - Ben Stiller's movie Tropic Thunder has the addition of Tugg Speedman, a self-absorbed Hollywood A-list fading actor who takes a trip to a jungle only to be surprised by many unfortunate events. As the other A-list actors wake up to reality, Tugg Speedman begins portraying a true soldier, Rambo.

The Outfit (from top to bottom)

When it comes to the helmet of Tugg Speedman one should purchase a bright green spray paint can. Wearing gloves, spray some paint onto the helmet and swish it around using your fingertips. It does not have to be perfect, simply something reflecting camouflage. Tape or glue straps on the lower inside of the helmet to let the straps hang down from inside of the helmet. Glue a pea colored ribbon around the helmet to slip a red object into the side ribbon of the helmet (as seen in photo). The vest should be short sleeved and packed to cushion. Tugg likes to show his muscles and tattoo. The words M18 are written on the side of a mini barrel which hangs on the side strap on Tugg's vest.

The Props

It's going to be hard to find a bullet necklace, and unfortunately if you want to create on ask your local toy store if they have play bullets. You can drive a hole into a toy bullet, but do it carefully. Once you have a hole in the toy bullet, strand it onto thick string. After tying the string, try it on. Tugg Speedman also wears dog tags. You can purchase plastic dog tags at your local costume store. Go to the prop section for these items.

A gold watch is not suggested unless you are attending an important costume party. A cheap gold plated watch will do the tick when you want to capture the true Tugg Speedman character. The watch looks great, but you also have to sport a large toy gun. You can find toy guns at your local costume store or toy store. Some gun props offer sound effects.

The Make-Up

To appear like Tugg Speedman you would have to purchase "charcoal" powder from your local costume store. This is perfect for giving you that rough, haven't shaved for days, look. To reach the Tugg Speedman look, spread a little charcoal powder onto your face, but mostly around the chin area. Take your fingertips and slowly move in circular motions until you have reached the appropriate appearance. It is better to compare your face with that of Tugg Speedman, and fix any charcoal areas that do not match that of Tugg Speedman's face. You can use an eyebrow pencil to fill in full eyebrows like Tugg has. Don't be afraid to place a beauty mark upon your face, Tugg has one.

Once you have created your Tugg Speedman costume, spread the word around, and perhaps your friends will play the other characters in the movie 'Tropical Thunder'.
