Tropical Romantic Getaway: India

robert nick
How often would you equate India with a tropical romantic vacation? Probably not that often but in reality there are miles (or kilometers) of hot sandy beaches in India that cater to foreign visitors. Many of them cater to honeymooners and couples so they are readily prepared for your every need.

Goa

Goa is located along the west coast of India and is a favorite spot for tourists and honeymooners alike. The beaches are absolutely breathtaking in this area and the surrounding areas are drenched in culture and history. There are many places inland where you can easily spend a day or even more just sightseeing and investigating the majestic buildings and other attractions.

If you want to stay on the beach however you can easily spend your entire vacation here. The weather is temperate all year round and the entire culture is very tourist friendly.

The atmosphere of the entire area is relaxing and laid-back, with the possible exception of the Goa Carnival. This festival is celebrated every year in the month of February and lasts three days and nights. The Carnival attracts thousands from all over the country and includes parades, dances, costumes, mock battles, and many other attractions.

Kerala

Kerala is located in the southernmost part of India and covers some 38,900 square kilometers with a population of 26 million people. Kerala has a wonderful mixture of environments with valleys and forests connected to lakes and rivers. There are many ancient temples and other landmarks sprinkled around this area as well. So while you can find some amazing tropical areas in which to swim or simply lounge in your deck chair, you can also do some great sightseeing as well or find lush landscapes to explore.

Kerala also has many festivals and celebrations that are centuries old so whenever you visit you're likely to get some great sampling of their culture and rich heritage.

Lakshadweep

Lakshadweep is the only coral reef island of India and is a favorite for tourists from all over the world. It is nestled in the Arabian Sea and is made up of 10 inhabited islands, 17 uninhabited islands, and several islets and reefs. The main islands of Lakshadweep are designed to pamper to tourists and offer not just beautiful beachfronts but a wide variety of water sports including fishing, snorkeling, and boating.

Many other areas of India offer beautiful tropical getaways and are ready to cater to tourists of any origination. To help plan your getaway to India, try these websites:
