Tropicana Casino Poker Room Leaves Much to Be Desired

Tropicana's Poker Room is One of the Worst on the Strip

My favorite orange juice is Tropicana. Because of this, I felt obliged to check out the poker room at the Tropicana Casino. When I got there, I wondered what I had gotten myself into as the hotel itself looked to need a little bit of work. Once inside, the place warmed up a little bit, though. I decided that once I traveled all the way over there, I had to check out what their poker room was really like.

The Tropicana poker room itself leaves a lot to be desired, but it is probably better than the overall hotel. The room is very small and appears to be pretty plain. If you didn't know any better, you would swear that this room has been around forever. It hasn't been around for very long, though. Because of this fact, nobody really knows about it and it seems to be inhabited by mostly tourists. I found that the players there were simply guests of the hotel who were looking to play poker like the pros do it on ESPN. This made for some soft games, but often leaves the poker room in need of more players to provide the action.

The worst part about the Tropicana poker room is the fact that their dealers look like they've never seen a poker game before. They deal slowly and don't keep the game running at a great pace. Overall, they were pretty friendly, but needed quite a few weeks of training before they could be considered even average. This was a major downer for me, since I generally like to interact with these guys and get to know them.

If you are looking for great cocktail waitresses, head somewhere else. At this poker room, they're simply average. The drinks were pretty good, but I'd guess that was because I was winning some money. Winning makes even the most sour drink taste like a Shirley Temple. They were pretty quick with the service, but it would be hard to be slow in such a slow room. Either way, I am not the type of guy to complain about free drinks.

This poker room is relatively unknown in Las Vegas, but it should stay that way. There really is nothing there that is worth seeing. With so many other options in Las Vegas, I don't understand why anyone would choose to play there unless it was their hotel.
