Trouble Playing the Altador Cup Games? Try These Low Resolution Links!

Miss Fortune
Now that everyone is busy playing the four games that make up the Altador Cup, some people are having trouble with slower internet connections or older computers. I had the hardest time making it to 200 points when playing Make Some Noise then I tried the low-res link and was easily able to make it to the 3K threshold for the game submission to count towards level advancement and prize shop points. The low resolution links allow you to play even on older computers because they aren't as detailed as the regular links. They hog less system resources too so if you have other programs open, they can be a huge help.

Shootout Showdown: www.neopets.com/altador/colosseum/ctp.phtml?game_id=1106&quality=low
Slushie Slinger: www.neopets.com/altador/colosseum/ctp.phtml?game_id=863&quality=low
Make Some Noise: www.neopets.com/altador/colosseum/ctp.phtml?game_id=862&quality=low
Yooyuball: www.neopets.com/altador/colosseum/ctp.phtml?game_id=1288&quality=low

The games are played the same using these links but they don't look as great. You can still see everything clearly so there are no issues with color or size changes. When I started playing Yooyuball in the low-res version it took a little getting used to because it was a little harder to get the players to grab the ball when you activated a power-up but after a couple games I got used to it. For Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, I won't play them any other way than the low resolution version. I have used all four of the above links and have never had any problems with them not loading or crediting points.

I have used the "&quality=low" end tag on several other games at the site and found that it allows my laptop to load games quicker and have less issues with score submissions. For Key Quest players that often have frozen screens or their game dies for no reason, I like the low resolution version a lot more than trying the Beta version. There are still bugs with the game overall but when I do play Key Quest in the low-res mode I almost never have an issue outside of someone quitting because they are losing.
