Trouble Reporting Child Sex Crime

On 9-6-07 this reporter learned firsthand of a 20 year old man having sex with a 15 year old girl. When I went to report it the 20 year old man and his 18 year old friend pulled guns on me and tried to kill me. The cell phone I had was taken from me as the 18 year old held a 12 gauge shotgun on me. When I told them to just leave, a shot was fired into the ground at my feet. I took this opportunity to try to take the weapon but the 20 year old rushed into the trailer door to get another gun which turned out to be a 30/30 rifle. The guns belonged to my cousin as we were at his house at the time and he was asleep. I did not have time to wrestle for the shotgun. As I ran for cover the two men came after me with the weapons. It was pitch dark and I had the advantage of having the light to their backs to silhouette their body. I made a noise on purpose to attract the attention of the 18 year old with the shotgun as the other guy with the 30/30 moved to intercept me going around the other side of the open shed area. As the guy with the shotgun moved to where I made the noise, the other guy moved into the shed area to investigate too. I tossed a half empty can over into the shed behind where the guy with the 30/30 entered so I could effect my escape in the opposite direction to the woods. As it made a loud noise I was already running towards the woods. At this time I heard a shot and I did not know if I was going to feel hot lead hitting me or not. I heard the guy with the 30/30 scream "You shot me in the butt!".

There was another shot after that where I assume the 20 year old thought I was going for my truck and shot the 30/30 into my drivers side truck door. The guy with the shotgun attempted to ditch the gun by throwing it out into the woods just a few feet from where I was hiding. When the police and paramedics arrived I was still hiding as I did not know if the hunt was over or not. As I heard the police radio I called out to them and came out of the woods, still nothing in my hands. I had checked the shotgun to see it was still loaded in case the guy with the 30/30 came back for me and I could retreat no further as there was a fence and swamp in the only direction I had to run. I was arrested for aggrivated assault with a deadly weapon as the two guys said I came after them with the shotgun. As I tried to tell Port Arthur police what happened, they said they didnt believe a word I said because he was shot in the butt. The 30/30 bullet remains lodged in my truck as there wasnt much of an investigation done. There was no gunpowder residue test done to ANYONE, including myself, to see who fired a weapon. I was released from jail with the charges still pending and the Port Arthur police still do not want to hear my side of the story as they intend to just railroad me on these charges. They did confiscate all of the guns including the 30/30 that the bullet in my truck came from, but they do not want to hear all of the story behind this. Meanwhile two predators are allowed to continue to hurt kids. The 18 year old was my roommate until I kicked him out that night for continuing to mess with underage girls. I was forced to destroy my cell phone because he had underage girls logged on it and they had my phone number. I had made it clear before in front of witnesses that I do not want to have anything to do with this sort of thing. The day after I was arrested the two guys went to a high school football game to chase girls and there's no telling whose daughter was molested that night. The day after that, there was to be a beach party for the underage friend of the underage girlfriend of the 20 year old where both guys vowed to get laid. So Port Arthur police in essence perpetuated these crimes along with the ongoing sexual depravity of the 20 year old man with the 15 year old little girl.

As I was released, I attempted to report the crime of the 20 year old having sex with the 15 year old which sparked this incident to begin with. I was told by Groves police that I could not report a molestation. It had to be a family member that reports it. The 15 year old girls parents are consenting to the 20 year old man being with their 15 year old daughter even going as far as letting him stay the night with her. So who does that leave to protect this little girl? This has been going on some time before I found out. Probably back to when she was 14 years old. Texas law requires that any knowledge of abuse to a child, the elderly or disabled be reported. But police told me it has to be a family member. So I called the Beaumont resident agency of the F.B.I. and reported what police in Groves had told me. Minutes later I was asked to come to the Groves police department and fill out a witness statement on this crime. As it turns out, the girl is being molested just a few blocks from the police station right under their noses. I was told that my statement would be turned over to detectives but after what I have seen from these two police agencies, I am skeptical of anything actually being done. I went to the Department of Family and Protective Services online and reported this crime there too. To date I see no evidence of that little girl recieving any help.

So much hoopla is made over tracking sex offenders, but what about when you KNOW a sex crime is being committed against a child while police and State agencies do NOTHING? Why does this happen? Who is to blame? Why is this crime continuing to happen even as you read this? This 15 year old little girls childhood is being taken at the hands of uneducated parents and law enforcement by a murderous 20 year old man who is so much in love with her that he would resort to murder to keep his sexually deviant dream alive. I have only two questions regarding my pulling a gun on those guys. If I had a gun on them, how did they get my cousins cell phone from me? If I had a gun on them, how was the 20 year old allowed to go in and get the 30/30 rifle?
