TRU Tech Brand Electronics: Nothing True About Its Quality

Misty Hill
Last Christmas my 8 yr old son wanted a dvd player, but i didn't want to spend alot of money so i began to search every store and online stores for the best price.
I decided that i wanted to get him a dvd player combined with surround speakers.

One day when me and my husband were at Target we came across the best deal we had found, it was a TRU Tech brand progressive scan dvd player with surround speakers. When we first hooked everything up on Christmas Eve it all worked fine. Then when we tried to hook up my sons gamecube system and thats when we had trouble.

At first it made the color in the TV dull, and so we had to change the way we hooked everything up. So we ended up having the gamecube without the sound coming through the speakers. A couple of weeks later we had to change the way the cords were hooked up once again, only this time the only thing that comes through the speakers is the dvd player sound.

The other day i changed my sons rooms and had to unhook everything, well when i went to hook everything up again nothing was working right.
First only two of the speakers was working and they were as loud as they could get, So i had to unhook all of the speakers.
Then i had to unhook the whole dvd player all together because it was making the sound coming through the TV muted, So now my son needs another dvd player.

Needless to say the next electronic buy will NOT be a TRU Tech brand. Buying that was the worst thing i ever wasted my money on.

Pros:
Low cost for dvd player combined with surround speakers.

Cons:
Never worked properly, Speakers stopped working, changed color in the TV, muted sound through TV

Here is the product review from other users on Target.com
Target Reviews

Heres what some of the people had to say:
"The fan on the player is louder than the furnace."
"Anyone above the age of 6 will NOT enjoy anything about this product."
"this product,if you can call it that should not be in stores"
"You get what you pay for and, of course, the warranty lasts only 3 months, just long enough for it to work properly then begin to fall apart."
"The so-called "manual" was a sheet of paper."
"I haven't had this problem with any of my other DVD players...I am not going to try a replacement one, I'm just going to get a refund."

There were only 3 good reviews out of 10, and thats not mentioning the other people who bought it and had problems but never posted a review.
