Alcide tries to talk sense to Debbie but she is in the grips of her V addiction. Tara thinks of a plan and conveys it to Sookie - Sookie screams to distract Debbie and Tara tackles her, knocking the gun to within Alcide's reach. Jason is lounging on his recliner in his boxers as he tells Hoyt that he feels depressed. He is upset about Crystal and wonders why he barely knows her but already loves her. Jason wonders if she is named after fancy champagne while Hoyt suggests that she is named after a drug and her middle name is probably Meth. Jason leaves and Hoyt answers a knock at the door - it is his date from the other night, Summer. She comments about being his girlfriend and he is a little confused.
Sam parks in a secluded area in the woods then transforms into a pit bull and runs off.
Summer has made a batch of homemade biscuits for Hoyt. He wasn't expecting her and she tells him she sat by the phone waiting for him to call after their date. She is wanting to declare her feelings for him. She tells him "I like you Hoyt. I really want to be your girlfriend and I want you to taste my biscuits." Jason comes in and samples the biscuits, telling Hoyt that "she's a keeper!"
At the Queen's mansion, Sophie Anne is caged and Eric enters bringing Hadley, the Queen's companion with him. Hadley is Sookie's cousin and Eric wants to know the secret about Sookie Stackhouse and is planning to drink from Hadley until Sophie Anne tells him what he wants to know. Eric begins feeding on Hadley. Hadley tells him to stop - she will tell him what he wants to know as she passes out. Eric's face shows his surprise and he bites his wrist then lets Hadley feed.
A group of men are in a secluded area with dogs. An unknown pit bull (Sam) walks up to them and they grab him.
In the back of Alcide's van, Sookie is trying to rouse Bill but can't. He is badly injured and she isn't sure he will make it. She grabs a small saw and slices her arm to allow him to feed, which he does. He sinks his fangs in and loses control of himself, jumping on top of her to feed. In the front of the van, Alcide tells Tara she should relax but she is very nervous. In the back of the van, Bill feeds savagely on Sookie.
Jason visits the ail to talk to the man from Hotshot that he tackled a few nights before. Jason wants to know about Crystal and the man she is living with. The jailed man is Crystal's cousin. The man wants meth to tell Jason about Crystal. Andy comes in and sends Jason away to sweep the floor.
Alcide pulls the van over next to the woods and Tara gets out to check on Sookie. Tara opens the back of the van and finds a bloody and unresponsive Sookie and a confused Bill. Tara jumps in and kicks Bill out but the sunlight doesn't burn him. Alcide closes the van door on Tara and Sookie then drives away, leaving Bill in the sunlight. After a few seconds, his skin begins to smoke just a little.
At the dog fighting cages, a man is leading the unknown pit bull to a cage. He turns his back and when he turns back around a naked Sam is holding a pitchfork. He hits him and knocks him out.
At the hospital, Alcide and Tara have brought Sookie in. Nurses take her to give her medical treatment. They start to give her blood and Sookie begins having a seizure. A doctor comes out to talk to Tara and tells her she's lost a lot of blood and that her body rejected the transfusion. She tells Tara that Sookie doesn't have a blood type and that she's never seen a reaction like Sookie's before. She tells Tara that she needs to notify Sookie's family.
At the dog fighting ring brutality is the norm and Joe Lee and Melinda are putting Tommy into the ring with a rottweiler. Sam sounds an alarm that sends people running and he begins opening all of the dog cages. In the ring, the rottweiler has gotten the best of Tommy and Sam jumps in to get the dog off of his brother. He yells at Joe Lee and Melinda to give Tommy Joe Lee's clothes.
At Merlotte's, Jason has come to see Lafayette to get meth. He gets a phone call - it is Tara, calling about Sookie. She tells Jason that she is calling from the hospital and Sookie is in a coma. Jason runs to get to Sookie.
At the dog ring, Sam is telling Melinda and Joe Lee what someone should have said to them long ago. He plans to take Tommy with him but Tommy doesn't believe he can go. Tommy is afraid to break away from his parents, but Sam convinces him to go with him. As they walk away, Melinda tells Joe Lee she hates him.
At the hospital, a hospital representative tries to get Jason to make a decision regarding Sookie but Jason insists he is not responsible enough to make any decisions. Jason reminisces that Sookie was born at home on the dining room table. Sookie, in her coma, has a vision. She gets up from the hospital bed and walks on rose petals, carrying a wine glass. She is dressed in a white, filmy gown. She walks through the hospital to a doorway that opens to outside. There are people frolicking outside and a woman comes up behind Sookie and tells her she can't seem to stay out of trouble. Sookie asks who she is but the woman notes that Sookie's cup is empty and the two walk to the outside where people dance. The woman gathers water from a pool and pours it into Sookie's cup then tells her her name is Claudine. Sookie says it is the most wonderful thing she has ever tasted and the woman says she has tasted it before. Sookie wants to dance.
In the hospital room, Lafayette, Jason and Tara are standing around Sookie and talking.
In the dream state, Sookie dances with the others then says she is tired and must sit. The woman, Claudine, tells Sookie not to go back, to stay with her and the others and go to their home, which is more beautiful than anything she ever imagined. Claudine tells Sookie they must swim to her home but Sookie becomes scared. She never learned to swim and her parents were killed in water. She overhears Claudine's thoughts telling her not to fear the water - it wasn't the water that killed her parents. Darkness comes over the land and Claudine announces in a fear "The dark approaches!"
In the hospital room, Bill walks in and Tara is furious to see him. Bill says he can help - his blood can save Sookie. He appeals to Jason to let him help.
In the dream world, Claudine and the others are afraid and they jump into the pool to leave. She tells Sookie that Bill is dangerous and that he will try to take her light away. Sookie collapses on the ground as the last person disappears in the water.
Jason tells Bill to give Sookie his blood. Bill bites his wrist then attaches the end of Sookie's IV to the blood flow.
As Sam and Tommy drive, Tommy watches Sam warily and Sam is obviously troubled.
At Fangtasia, the Magister has Pam chained with silver. He has a pair of earrings from Tiffany's for her - they are made of sterling silver. He notes that her ears are already pierced and wonders if she would object if he pierced her eyelids. She tells him "Not at all." Before he can begin, Eric is suddenly there with the Queen of Louisiana in tow. Eric tells the Magister that he has pledged loyalty to the King of Mississippi, and Russell enters the room behind Eric and Sophie Anne. Sophie Anne admits to selling V and the Magister attempts to arrest her. Russell interrupts and questions the Magister's authority to arrest her. Russell tells the Magister that Sophie Anne has accepted his marriage proposal. Russell releases Pam from her chains in the blink of an eye and has the Magister in her place. He has a stake and intends to use it on the Magister for torture.
At the hospital, Sookie wakes up and begins screaming when she sees Bill.
In the basement of Fangtasia, the Magister unwillingly pronounces Russell and Sophie Anne married. Russell rants about the need to take the world back from the humans instead of placating them. Eric, Pam and Sophie Anne turn to leave with Russell, but Russell pauses and says "Say hello to the true death" then cuts off the magister's head - sending it flying across the room.
