True Blood Season 3 - The Eric, Sookie, Bill triangle
The story picks up right where it left off in Season 2, where Bill (Stephen Moyer) goes missing after he proposes to Sookie (Anna Paquin) and the hot blond runs for help to her dream sex partner Eric (Alex Skarsgard), which leads to more flirting and sexual tension between the pair. Once Eric suspects that Bill was abducted by werewolves, he enlists the help of werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello) to accompany Sookie in her quest to find her lost love.
True Blood Season 3 - New characters and new twists - vampire royalty, werewolves and friendships
The introduction of the werewolves opens a window into another weird, dangerous and sexy world inhabited by buff male characters with gorgeous abs and red hot women with serious mental issues. The introduction of Alcide and his ex girlfriend, werewolf Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan) take the Sookie, Eric, Bill love triangle to another level as we can expect some serious flirting between Sookie and Alcide.
To add further spice to the already hot plot, this season we are to expect more insights into the vampire world as the vampire king of Mississippi Russell Edgington (Denis Hare) plots to achieve ultimate power by marrying the vampire queen Sophie Anne( Evan Rachel Wood) who we met in the second season.
If this is not enough both Queen Sophie and Eric have much at stake since they are both being investigated by the vampire magister, following their involvement in the trafficking of vampire blood which is strictly forbidden according to vampire rules.

True Blood Season 3 - Tara and Lafayette Reynolds
Another favorite character in this show Lafayette Reynolds gets more on screen time, this season as we see him fall for Jesus (Kevin Alejandro), a male nurse taking care of his schizophrenic mother Alfre Woodard.
Though the season opens with Lafayette's cousin Tara (Rutina Wesley) grief stricken after the death of her lover, and trying to commit suicide, she soon becomes entangled in a new dangerous love interst - the fiendish Franklin Mott (James Frain) - a vampire investigating Bill's case.
True Blood Season 3 - Jason, Sam and Jessica
Shape shifter Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) battles old demons when he goes looking for his family and stumbles into young brother Tommy ( Marshall Allman) and we learn more about Sam's childhood with his biological family who happens to be serious damaged goods and in a sick relationship with each other.
Bill's underling Jessica (Debra Ann Woll) has to deal with the dead body of the trucker she fanged in the second season and rapidly befriends Eric's cohort Pam (Kristin Bauer) who takes the teenage vampire under her wing during Bill's absence.

More twists come to the already overly complicated plot when Jason (Ryan Kwanten) fights the trauma of killing Tara's love interest Eggs, and falls in love with Crystal (Lindsay Pulsipher) who is nothing like any woman Jason has pursued so far.
True Blood - A final word
Though this series sometimes offers gratuitous sex scenes and naked torsos that add very little to the plot, and some effects like vampire blood tears are rapidly becoming tedious, this show still has a lot to offer and promises to keep the huge fan crowd, entertained and begging for more this season. The weird plot and frenzied pace of this show are truly addictive and from what I have seen so far, the crowd of devoted True Blood fans is bound to increase this season, which taking into consideration the huge success of the previous seasons is so small feat.
