The True Blood season premiere is only days away, but creators of the show are primed for a ratings bonanza after the recent success of nearly everything "vampire" related. This will be the second season of True Blood, and Sunday night will serve as the season premiere of True Blood. The first season turned into a pretty big success for HBO, and the hope is that it will not only continue this season, but exceed expectations with a slow summer of programming on most of the big networks. The season premiere of True Blood is set to air for the first time at 9:00 P.M. on HBO this Sunday, June 14th.

True Blood isn't the ordinary show for HBO or for television as a whole for that matter, but it is definitely a very original program that has been seeing a lot of viewers join the ranks of fans as repeat episodes were shown over the past few months. On Demand programming has also had the first season of True Blood available to allow fans to re-watch some of the key episodes in order to make sure that they are all caught up for the season two premiere. There are a number of storylines that weren't completed towards the end of the first season, and those threads are going to lead to some exciting television in the coming weeks.

*Plot Spoilers Ahead*

At the heart of the story is Sookie Stackhouse, who serves as the main character in this vehicle. She works as a waitress at a Louisiana bar, but also has the ability to read people's thoughts. It is not a gift that she liked having at first, because she had a hard time turning it off, and became privy to information that she didn't always want. Her life changed when vampires started making their way into her bar, and while that may have been surprising to us, it wasn't to this neck of the woods. In the show, vampires have come "out" to the public, and revealed that they do exist. Over the two or so years that it has been public knowledge, they have started blending in with the population, and this show takes that lead in order to go in some interesting directions.

At the end of the first season, the death toll had mounted on True Blood after several villains made their way into the small town setting. While Sookie's brother was thought to be involved at first, he was eventually cleared, but not before some more people ended up dead. Then there was Bill Compton, a vampire whom Sookie had fallen in love with, but it became a relationship that was new and risky to both of them. That love is turning quite a few storylines, and could lead to more drama for both of them in season two.
