True Blood Wedding: Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer Get Married in Malibu

In the wake of their jaw dropping naked, blood soaked cover of Rolling Stone last week, Access Hollywood is reporting that True Blood costars and real life couple Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have wed after a year-long engagement. It is the first marriage for both stars.

The ceremony took place at sunset on Saturday in Malibu. Prior to the small intimate ceremony, guests sipped drinks outdoors and watched as the sun began to set.

The couple recited their vows under a white tent at a private beachside villa surrounded by their closest friends and family. Guests included True Blood creator Alan Ball and costars Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, Rutina Wesley and Carrie Preston. Moyer's two children from previous relationships, son Billy and daughter Lilac were also in attendance.

Immediately following the ceremony, Moyer stripped down to his underwear and joined several friends for a dip in the ocean. The reception then moved to a private Oceanside residence where guests showered the couple with gifts all in purple.

According to People magazine, Paquin wore a three quarter length white halter neck wedding gown styled after the famous white Marilyn Monroe dress in Some Like It Hot. The bride also sported black platform heels, Neil Lane jewelry, no veil and a sophisticated updo of her golden locks.

Moyer wore a casual black suit, white shirt and black tie.

According to US Weekly Moyer, 40, and Paquin, 28, met at an audition for their hit HBO vampire drama True Blood. The pair had an instant attraction to one another. The couple began dating shortly after they began filming True Blood in 2008. However, they did not divulge their attachment until February 2009. They shared their first kiss onscreen.

In an interview with Celebrity Bride Guide, Moyer gushed, "it's just exciting and that was there from day one...We always take the p- out of each other and are silly with each other and that is great. We're very, very happy. She's the best."

Paquin and Moyer became engaged on August 5, 2009. Moyer presented his future bride with an antiqued Victorian Era-look platinum ring inset with a rustic diamond while on a holiday in Hawaii. The ring was co-designed by Moyer and California jewelry designer and friend Cathy Waterman.

In True Blood, Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse a waitress, psychic and mortal lover to Moyers' vampire Bill Compton. It is unclear how the marriage of its two most prominent stars will affect storylines on the show. True Blood, now in its third season has thrived under the heat of Paquin and Moyer's star crossed lovers. Will news of a wedding push viewers away or only draw them in more? Time will tell.

Paquin, for one seems content to be working with her now-husband. "It's great to have the freedom to enjoy your work and not feel like you're leaving your other life behind. It's a pretty sweet setup. It's a luxury to get to go to work with the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, because I love my job and I'm really happy."

Paquin, who was born in Canada and raised in New Zealand, won an Academy Award in 1994 at the age of 11 for her role as Flora in The Piano. She is also known for her role as Rogue in the X-Men franchise. London-born Moyer is best known for his work as Prouix in Quills and Prince Valiant in Prince Valiant.

In a July interview with Playboy, Moyer gushed about his future bride, "with Anna it's just about pure trust, on camera and off. I have never trusted anybody like I trust Anna."
