True Blood - Werewolves, Vampires and Vengence, Oh My!

Eric Starts His Vengence, Bill and Sookie Break Up...Or Not, Lafayette Gets Some Suger

The adventures of Sookie and Bill are a massive roller coaster ride that never ends. They are together...then they are not...then they are and so on and so forth. They appear to be back on after breaking up at the beginning of the last episode but there seems to be more complications on the way.

Sookie woke up from her drained coma after Bill gave her some of his blood only to have her scream murder bloody (no pun intended) at him when she opened her eyes. We are still trying to figure out what the heck the "dancing with fairies" was all about (while comatose). Sookie cleared the room after dropping the decibel level just to have Bill break up again. He left in bloody tears and she cried hysterically into her pillow. Here we go again...

Shouldn't Sookie be a vampire by now? She has a good deal of vampire blood flowing through her veins and Bill did bite her.

Sookie has Bill's attention (for the most part), Eric Northman's attention and even the attention of Alcide, her werewolf former bodyguard. You have to wonder if there is enough of her to go around.

Bill went home and found Jessica there, He tried to convince her to leave but she refused to go, reminding him that he had never taught her what she could do as a vampire and that she didn't want to be alone anymore. So...let the lessons begin! It was rather dizzying to see these two in a mock fight racing around the room at supersonic speeds but at least Jessica was learning. After all, it is just plain rude to turn someone and then not teach your baby vampire how to handle being what you turned them into.

Eric Northman recently discovered that it was the King of Mississippi (Russell) that had murdered his mother, father and baby sister when he was a young human several hundred years ago. Turns out that Eric was a Viking Prince (I knew I liked him for some reason) and his father's last words to him were to seek vengeance for his family's murder...something which Eric is determined to carry out after centuries of waiting.

King Russell's concubine, Talbot, is the one who led Eric to his discovery and plans of vengeance by showing Eric the crown that should have been his. Apparently the King of Mississippi likes to keep trophies from his conquests. We were shown a flashback of Eric's life on the day his family was killed and after having his werewolves attack Eric's family, Russell took the Viking Kings crown and warned Eric to let it go. Eric held his father as he died and swore vengeance on those who had taken his family's lives. It was all very sad...a bit Beowolf-ish.

Eric has been planning his revenge for the past three weeks and finally began his payback in the last episode. An opportunity arose for Eric to spend some time alone with Talbot while Russell went to try and recapture Sookie in Louisiana. Talbot and Russell have been together at least 700 years and had a close bond but they were in the middle of a lover's spat. Eric had been trying to give the impression to both Talbot and Russell, separately, that his attractions were for vampires of the male persuasion, and Talbot seemed to buy into it (Eric has wet dreams about Sookie so he must like women).

Talbot decided to tell Eric to take his clothes off while they were spending the evening together and after clearing the room of everyone else, Eric and Talbot got naked together. The scene flashed away from them and when we saw them again, they were nude on the bed/couch, smooching and looking as if things were about to get more heated. Eric told Talbot to roll over on his stomach...Talbot liked that idea...but Eric quietly grabbed a piece of wood, told Talbot that Russell had killed his family and now he would kill Russell's family. The stake came down on Talbot's naked body a split second after he realized his fate.

Russell had made it to Sookie's house with three of his werewolves including Debbie, a newly branded she wolf. Bill killed one, Sookie was fighting Debbie upstairs and Jessica was trying to get the third. Jessica chased the third werewolf outside and was caught by Russell who almost killed her. Bill interfered and Jessica was let go. She ran off with the werewolf chasing after her (she did get him before the night was over). Good thing Jessica learned to be quick about things.

Russell and Bill tied it on in the front yard and it looked as if Bill would get the worst of it. Russell felt Talbot's death and lost his ambition concerning Bill, taking off in one of those quick vampire exits. Bill, of course, went upstairs to check on Sookie (she had run her werewolf off) and they ended up making up and naked on the floor...I don't have to tell you what they were doing.

In an unforeseen twist, Lafayette's mother escaped from the mental hospital and went to Lafayette's house. She was under the impression that Lafayette was in danger. Werewolves, vampires and witches were all going to come after her son and she had to protect him. Lafayette called his mother's attendant, Jesus (Hay-soos), to let him know that "Mom" was out of the hospital. Jesus came over in an attempt to help get Lafayette's mom back to the hospital.

Jesus and Lafayette came close to having a love affair of their own, at least it appeared that way after Jesus kissed Lafayette a couple of weeks ago. Jesus found out that Lafayette sold drugs (V-vampire blood) and walked away in disgust. The two were a bit uncomfortable when Jesus came to help with Lafayette's mom but they did a good job of settling the woman down. After "Mom" was put to bed, Lafayette tried to explain and apologize to Jesus for the drugs but was cut off. Jesus planted a lip lock on him and took him out of the room...apparently to the bedroom.
