True Confessions of a Toddler Mom

Why Singing the Yo Gabba Gabba Song "There's a Party in My Tummy" is a Frequent Occurrence

I confess I keep a stash of goldfish in my $400 Coach purse, I know the words to every popular toddler television show, I have caught myself randomly start singing an Elmo song as I'm driving in the car alone, I actually like watching "Yo Gabba Gabba" and I sing along, I make a great peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I know when the Mickey Mouse Club House episode is actually new, and I was very excited when Olivia the pig got her own Nick Jr. show.

I confess that watching my daughter splash in the bath brings me great joy. When she learned how to say I love you, my heart just melted. I love her big sloppy kisses and her tight hugs she gives me. I love how she runs down the hallway with her blanket at night time. I love going for walks with her and watching her excitement as she finds a leaf. I cry when I hear the Martina McBride song "In my daughter eyes".

Every day as the mother to a toddler is an adventure. I wake up never knowing exactly what this day may bring. What new thing will my daughter learn today? What funny thing will she do today? My daughter finds it hysterical to keep walking around the corner just to say "Hi" and then say "Bye-Bye." This ritual can easily last 20 minutes.

I confess life as a mom of a toddler is wonderful. My house may not always be as clean as I would like it but my house is always filled with love and laughter. Having a toddler is a great joy of motherhood. I confess I know my toddler is growing up too quickly. She is my last baby and I know I will miss these times in the near future.

I agree that having a toddler is a great joy of motherhood. Because then they grow up and get mouthy and moody. When they are young they are sweet and cute.

Beautiful. I have two little ones also and you really did a good job on pointing out the small things that touch your heart that only a parent would get.

This is beautiful! I am a Mom of two boys, and remember those toddler years well. They go by so darn fast!

Interesting article! I do not have any children (yet)... :D You did not paint the terrible picture that I have heard so frequently from other moms though... that must make you a great mother. Keep up the great work! :D
