Is every person born a leader? Or can everyone become a leader? This question pertains to the fact that this world needs more leaders that will be catalysts for change. Though the answers to these two questions are still uncertain to a particular extent, we can still spot some obvious qualities in a person that can potentially help us on identifying him or her as a natural-born leader.
Though the qualities mentioned below do not necessarily limit the other possible qualities a leader can possess, here are just some of the attributes that can distinguish a great leader among the rest:
1. Leaders are sociable.
People can't be leaders if they remain complacent, passive and bounded within their respective shells. Leaders usually devote a great amount of their time interacting with people and knowing them. Through this way, a potential leader will be able to appropriately delegate more tasks and responsibilities to the right people under his or her supervision, who is fit for that delegation.
2. Leaders are responsible and organized.
Being a leader in any field or career requires a great deal of responsibility to finish tasks and prioritize activities that will lead the team he or she leads towards success. We cannot call someone as a leader if he or she is lax when it comes to his or her duties, or if he or she cannot commit to some expectations attributed to him or her.
3. Leaders are firm and consistent.
You can't be a leader if you are always changing sides, or if your stand on certain issues will always be neutral. Leaders know how to fight for their principles and firmly establish their rules and beliefs. Moreover, their desire to defend their unwavering faith on some things is also consuming and sometimes, even revolutionizing. They mean what they say, and they prove it through concrete actions.
4. Leaders are physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally capable.
When people become leaders, much is expected from him or her. They need to be qualified or capable on doing a lot of things, particularly a certain expertise where he or she excels. This specific quality will not only propel the team or group being led to success but will also enhance or boost the leader's morale on handling future projects or tasks in the future.
5. Leaders are determined fighters.
When they encounter opposition, they just don't easily give up. The reason why leaders become successful on enacting their advocacies is because they fight till the very end and they strive to overcome any possible hurdles that might come across their paths. Their adamant spirit won't just flicker by a single ray of disappointment, and that's what totally sets them apart from the rest.
