True Love: Could it Be?

Have you found your true love? It was 3-years after my divorce when my friend form work gave me a phone number to try. She said it was fun, try it! She was around my age and has been calling this phone line for sometime. She met several people. I was very hesitant, but then I decided to try it. First you call the toll free number and create an account. Because I was female, my account was free. I added my name and gave a minute introduction of who I am, what I like, and what type of person I was looking for. I received about 5 messages almost immediately. I was very nervous to call them back, but there was a safe way to respond in a message. So I did it! I responded to two people.

Within a day, I had messages. This time it was from one of the guys I left a message with. He had a very deep voice. I could tell in his voice he was a smoker. He said allot of the right things which drew my attention. So I decided to respond back to him; however, this time he was on the phone. The system wanted to know, if I would like to connect to him. I went ahead and said yes. He then answered the phone and said hello. He said he responded to my message as he liked what he heard. He was apparently at work with his boss. They were driving in a truck. He asked me "what do I want out of this?" I said, "I don't know". He then said, why don't you call me back when you know the answer.

Boy that was different, I thought! Why should I call him back? So I sat on it for a day, two day, three day, four day, and then on the fifth day I decided to call. He said he's been waiting for my call. He then asked me the question again, "what do I want out of this?" I stopped and paused, then I said " I want to find true love, marriage, something that will last forever". He then said, that was the answer I was looking for.

For the next week, we continued to talk on the phone until we schedule a time, a place, and a date. He was going to meet me in the local parking lot and go get a bit to eat. He drove up in a tan blazer. It was old looking. He got out and was wearing jeans and a shirt. He came over and introduced himself. I felt the chemistry. He got in my car and we drove to the local cafe. We sat and talked for almost two hours. He kept saying, "yep, this is it". I wasn't sure what to say and I wanted to move slow. When we got back to the parking lot, he bent over and gave me a kiss. A kiss that lasted almost 30 seconds. Then, he gave me a present. Yes, a present. It was a pair of diamond earrings. We kissed one more time, and then he left.

My heart was touched and we got along so well. I thought, is he the one? Could it be? We married 6 months later.
